Bell initially envisioned that there would always be a telephone in every community. He was right, and there is now one in each person’s wallet. Video calling has also seen an increase in popularity over the past few decades. This is not a new concept – it has been around since Bell’s telephone. However, high-speed broadband and affordable prices have made it possible to send and receive sufficient data for video calls.

Shopping? Amazon has it all. How do you catch up with friends? It can be FaceTime, Snapchat, email, or both. Are you looking for entertainment? Netflix and online gaming are two options. What are you looking for? Google it. You can find almost everything you need online, so it is likely that your time online will increase.

The physical world of shopping isn’t being abandoned by technology. We don’t have to worry about giving cash or entering a pin code with contactless phones. Just tap to pay and we’re done.

You don’t need to do much to find the answer today. It takes only a few clicks. Most of us don’t have to move away from the spot. Simply pull out your smartphone and start Googling or ask your smart home assistant.
While it might seem like a distant memory, it wasn’t too long ago when you had to go to the library to find more detailed information on a subject. You can now find thousands of pages on almost any topic you want, from “crochet patterns”, (Google has 129,000,000 results) or “Roman history”, (1,360,000,000).
Virtual Social Lives
The introduction of social media has made another significant change in our lives. Social media has made this industry a fast-growing one. The early days of MySpace, Facebook, and its original version seem like yesterday. Snapchat, TikTok, or Instagram allow us to see the real-time lives of other users, regardless of whether they have a few friends or are celebrities with millions.
Businesses are getting involved too. With their ability to impact a brand’s reputation and make it or break it, a social media manager can be a crucial part of any company.
